Happy trails

Whelp, we woke up today and found a better hostel, cause ours was a little creepy, then prepared for our backpacking trip that we're starting tomorrow morning. We'll be on the trail for eight or nine days.

Here's a view of what we're going to see:

Back at the airport yesterday morning, we found out that Carly's bag is still lost, but we did find Clint coming out of the bathroom and decided to keep our flight to Punta Arenas. The scenery and weather outside the airport was very similar to that of my hometown, Crescent City. We took a bus to Puerto Natales. This is the last city before we get to Torres del Paine, which is a national park where we will be doing an eight-day backpacking circuit of 56 miles.

Problemos in Santiago

Carly, Abbe, and I made it to Santiago this morning. Woop woop! Except one problem that we had been worried about since the Denver airport. The airline made Carly check one of her carry-ons and it never made it to Santiago. If we wait for it to maybe get in on the next flight (tomorrow afternoon), we will miss our flight to Punta Arenas.
We're headed back to the airport in the morning to explore our options, meet up with Clint, and maybe get on our noon flight to the Patagonia region.

Heading Out!

We are leaving today. So naturally, I took our backpacks down to the local pet shop and weighed them on the pet scale. Anyways, we are flying to Toronto today and have an overnight flight to Santiago. Stay there a night and drop off some of the girl's stuff that they'll need for their three months of teaching English somewhere in Chile. The day after we get to Santiago, we'll meet Clinton Perrywinkle in the airport and hop on a jumper flight down the Punta Arenas. From there, we'll take a bus down to Puerto Natales which is the last stop before heading into Torres del Paine for our backpacking trip.
